Food Guide Pyramid

There are tiny circles and triangles located in the Pyramid, and each different food group has a different number of circles and triangles. The number of circles stands for the amount of fat in each kind of food group (fruit does not contain any circles since they do not contain fat), and the number of triangles represents the amount of sugar found in each group (vegetables do not have any triangles because they do not have any sugars).

The Pyramid is divided into four levels with six different sections bases on the recommended daily servings for each different group.

You need food from all five food groups for the vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, and proteins, they provide to keep your body stocked with energy.
