I am an Art Educator and working artist. I teach at a rural school located near the Illinois-Wisconsin border. I am married and have two children. Before becoming a full-time teacher, I was a self-employed cabinet and furniture design craftsman on the coast of Maine. I am a Wisconsin native that happened to go to Maine to visit friends for the summer in 1986...before I knew it the ocean coast had inspired me and I had went into business for myself. I didn't find my way back for 14 years. The business grew to a point that it became too stressful. I yearned to get back to my passions and my roots! I sold my business, and moved back to Wisconsin. I had taught art & design classes off and on while in Maine and had taken on apprentices for several years. I found that teaching was the one true constant in my life, after a lot of very hard work I acquired my teaching certification in Wisconsin. Although I find teaching to be very frustrating at times dealing with things you can't control, I find it rewarding and satisfying. I still enjoy free-lancing as a designer and builder and have many other interests that keep me very busy. My interests are my family, woodworking, painting, sculpture, Graphic Design, football, fishing and stock car racing.
